Practically Family is proud to present SUMMERSTOCK 2023 – our Holiday Club with a summer festival vibe! Think outdoor adventures, exciting entertainment, friendship, laughter drifting through the bunting, creative quests and more…all the things summer memories are made of!
Our SOLD OUT, SUMMERSTOCK Holiday Club will be running at Moss Hey Primary School, Bramhall, from Monday 31st July to Friday 25th August.
No day is ever the same at a Practically Family Holiday Club. It’s all about the kids! From den builders to big gamers, budding bakers to portrait painters, we understand that children are unique, creative and adventurous. They want to spend their school holidays discovering something new and exciting, going on an adventure with new friends and old friends, building their confidence and most importantly, having fun! This isn’t just ‘childcare’ it’s a place your children will thrive and jump out of bed for!
We’re all about friendship & teamwork – no one is left behind! Your introvert, your shy little man, your day dreamer, your aimless wanderer, even your competitive natural born leader! We’ve got them covered.
This summer we’ll be going Practically Wild, getting our fill of outside fun and sun! Fantastic fresh air, oodles of screen-free time and unlocking our inner nature explorer! We’ll be leaving no stone unturned – literally – in letting little imaginations run wild. Think tree climbing, den building and hunting for mini beasts!
We also LOVE mess…slime of all types, glorious gloop, shaving foam fun, playdoh, glue, glitter and (yes, we said it…) mud. This stuff has so many sensory benefits, plus there’s is no “right way” to do any of it – hurrah for open ended exploratory play!
And, it wouldn’t be a festival without music. Glitter discos, dance-offs and musical games will keep everyone on their toes.
We’ll also have some extra ‘Special Days’ taking place during Summerstock, which we’ll be announcing soon…Last year our Inflatables Day had everyone jumping for joy and the Disco Party had us bopping and popping!
Every festival needs a headline act and, in the eyes of the children, that’s our super-star crew leaders and assistants. They’re one of the gang, full of energy, enthusiasm and total awesomeness. But don’t be fooled…all our team are fully teacher and childcare qualified so will be developing child led play, guided by the early years and key stage frameworks. The kids will be learning, and they won’t even know it!
Each morning our leaders will meet their clubbers and take them to their very own festival tent on the field…their 'Crew Camp,' for SUMMERSTOCK. They will be decorating it in their crew colour and making it their very own base, festooning it with everything they’ll create whilst in Holiday Club.
To help the children bond, they will develop their own chant, handshake, flag and maybe even a secret language! And that’s before we get into the slime making, tree climbing, sports days, board games, water balloons, arts and crafts, tower building, party games, team challenges and mud kitchens…
Which crew are you in? BLUE, YELLOW, ORANGE, or GREEN! Sshhh…there's really no difference between our crews but the children LOVE them. We find having smaller groups help children buddy up with their friends more easily, as well as allowing our club leaders to design activities best suited to the children in their crew.
And, don't forget to grab your crew merch! From terrific t-shirts to heavenly hoodies and brilliant baseball caps, starting from £12, it's definitely one way to get them feeling like one of the gang! You can order online here and we'll make sure your package is ready and waiting on your first day of Holiday Club. There is also absolutely no obligation to buy! Your kids can wear anything to Holiday Club, whether that's a tutu or super-hero dress-up - we always encourage individuality!
We like to keep it simple. One backpack with a packed lunch, drink, sunscreen and spare clothes is perfect! Hopefully, we’ll be basking in sunshine, so swimwear, towel and dry clothes is a good idea…let’s hope we won’t be needing coats and gloves, but pack for a typical British summer. Please do involve them in packing their backpack so that they know what belongs to them!
We’ll have an abundance of healthy snacks and water to drink throughout the day.
Ultimately our favourite thing about Holiday Club is how the children work together and how new friendships are formed. At the heart of what we do is always friendship.
There’s always a whole lot of love – from caring for the pets – our chickens, tortoises and rabbits – to how the older kids look out for the younger ones. We’ve see smiling faces welcoming new faces each day. We create a sense of belonging and we’re oh-so-proud.
