All Hands On Deck

Join the Practically Family Crew

Can you go on safari in the woods with nothing but your own set of toilet roll binoculars?

We create high-quality, creative holiday clubs where children feel confident, included and excited to be themselves. Behind that experience is a team of passionate, thoughtful people who bring energy, care and imagination to everything they do.

If that sounds like you, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

Why Work With Us

Working at Practically Family is full-on, fast-paced and hugely rewarding. No two days are the same; one minute you’re leading a game, the next you’re deep in a craft project or helping a child try something new for the first time.

You’ll be part of a team that supports each other, shares ideas and genuinely cares. We invest in our people, give them the freedom to bring their personality to the role, and create an environment where both children and team members can thrive.

Our Roles

We’ve built a clear team structure so everyone knows their role, feels supported and can grow with us:

Crew Cadet (16+)
Our entry-level role. Perfect for those starting out, gaining experience or exploring a future in childcare. Cadets bring energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in.

Crew Mate (Experience working with children)
Right in the action. Crew Mates support activities, build relationships with children and help create the positive, inclusive atmosphere our Clubs are known for.

Crew Leader (Strong experience / leadership within childcare or education)
Leading a Crew and bringing each day to life. Crew Leaders shape activities, support children’s development and take responsibility for the overall experience of their group.

Club Captain
Our senior leaders. Captains oversee the full operation of each Club, ensuring everything runs safely, smoothly and to the highest standard, while supporting the wider team.

Specialist Roles
At larger clubs, some team members take on additional responsibilities such as Outdoor Lead, Sports Lead, Early Years Lead or SEND support, allowing us to offer even more depth and expertise.

What It’s Really Like

Holiday Club is brilliant fun, but it’s also busy, energetic and hands-on.

You’ll be on your feet, thinking on the spot, working as part of a team and taking responsibility for children’s safety and wellbeing throughout the day. It’s not a role where you can stand on the sidelines, you’re right in the middle of the action.

If you enjoy variety, teamwork and making a genuine impact, you’ll love it here.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re always on the lookout for people who:

  • Enjoy working with children and understand their different needs

  • Bring energy, positivity and a calm, responsible approach

  • Are reliable, organised and happy to be part of a team

  • Can use initiative and think on their feet

  • Want to create a safe, inclusive and engaging environment

  • First aid trained desirable but not essential, training can be offered.

Many of our team are qualified teachers, childcare practitioners or students working towards those careers, but just as importantly, we value people with the right attitude and a genuine passion for working with children.

What’s your superpower? Whether it’s dancing, juggling, den building, baking, pizza making, adventuring, face painting, karaoke, hair braiding, football, star wars, Lego building or something entirely different, we love to know what brings you joy and makes you smile!

Safeguarding & Safer Recruitment

Keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do.

All team members go through a safer recruitment process, including enhanced DBS checks, references and relevant training before joining our Clubs. We provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure every member of the team feels confident in their role and responsibilities.

We follow current safeguarding guidance and work closely with schools and local authorities to maintain the highest standards of care.

We’re proud to be trusted by families across our community — built on consistency, strong relationships and a commitment to doing things properly, every single day.

Why Join Us Now

Practically Family is growing. With multiple venues already established and plans for the future, there are real opportunities to develop, take on more responsibility and be part of something evolving.

It’s an exciting time to join the Crew.
