Half term is nearly here, and May Dayz Holiday Club at
Greenbank Preparatory School is ready to roll!
From Tuesday 28th to Friday 31st May, we’ll be diving into four joy-filled days of outdoor adventures, big games, silly challenges, creative chaos and good old-fashioned British fun. With maypole dancing, cupcake decorating, inflatable obstacle courses and more glitter than you can shake a picnic blanket at - it’s shaping up to be our most charming holiday club theme yet.
Whether your child loves football, face paint or forest trails, May Dayz is full of activities that let them choose their own adventure. Our days are led by them, with loads of options on offer so they can dip in and out of what lights them up.
Here’s what we’ve got planned...
Tuesday: May Day Carnival
We’re kicking things off in full festival spirit. There’ll be bubble art, sparkle slime, and a junk modelling parade, plus the crowning of our very own Rose Kings and Queens. Out in the wild area, children can join forest adventures or mix up some messy magic in our mud kitchens. We’ll round off the day with classic lawn games - tennis, football, badminton - and a gingham blanket picnic to soak up the sunshine (or dance in the drizzle!)
Wednesday: Party and Sports Day
It’s disco meets sports day, Practically Family style. We’ll have neon face paint, temporary tattoos, party games, prizes and even a Zumba session to get everyone moving. Then we’re heading outside for the Practically Family Olympics - think relay races, penalty shootouts, egg & spoon sprints, and bean bag toss battles. We’ll wrap up with a talent show to give every child their moment to shine, whether they’re singing, dancing, telling jokes or showing off a football trick.
Thursday: Royal Village Fête
From baking to balloon-popping, Thursday brings a true village fête feel. Children can decorate cupcakes worthy of a Bake-Off handshake, get stuck into classic garden games (hook-a-duck, tin can alley, ring toss, tic tac toe and more) and take part in fantasy football fun. In the woods, our Gangsta Granny jewel heist returns, alongside den building, treasure hunting and plenty of leafy mischief.
Friday: Inflatable Day
We’re finishing the week with a bounce! Our 100ft inflatable assault course is back, along with a giant helter skelter and plenty of big team games. There’ll be another chance for children to shine in the talent show, a treat-filled treasure hunt, and - if the weather allows - a water fight to send everyone into the weekend joyfully soaked and smiling.
A Holiday Club Just for Them
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all childcare. At Practically Family, we know that children thrive when they’re given the space to explore, create and follow their own spark. That’s why our Holiday Clubs are built around freedom of choice, child-led activities, and plenty of variety - so every child can find something they love.
Whether your little one is into crafts or climbing, dancing or den building, football or fairy tales, there’s something here for them. Some children spend the whole day making mud pies and decorating crowns. Others race between sports challenges, team games and forest quests. Many mix and match, try new things, or simply enjoy having the freedom to choose.
Each day offers a range of activities tailored to different ages, interests, energy levels and personalities - and our team is always on hand to support, guide and celebrate every child in their own way.
Practical Magic for Families
Holiday childcare doesn’t need to feel like a juggle. We’re proud to offer flexible sessions, longer opening hours, and an inclusive, welcoming space where children feel safe, seen and excited to come back.
Our team includes experienced childcare professionals, teachers, creatives and natural-born fun-bringers. We keep things calm, well-organised and full of laughter - and we love seeing children leave us each day a little muddier, happier and more confident than when they arrived.
If you’ve booked in already, we can’t wait to see you soon. And if you missed out this time, keep your eyes peeled –
