Extra-thoughtful, Inexpensive Mother's Day Activities that are Wrapped in Love
It’s nearly Mother’s Day yay! Whoever you’re looking to treat, if you need a knock-your-socks-off idea for your wife, life partner or special someone you’re on this crazy parenting journey with, then we’ve got you covered.
Making Mother’s Day meaningful doesn’t mean that it must cost a fortune. In fact, ask any mum what kind of gifts they love the most and they’ll tell you that the best gifts aren’t the most expensive ones or the most glamorous ones. It’s the most memorable ones that steal their heart.  So, this Mother’s Day why not do something different? Whether it’s spending time together as a family, making something together, or crafting something sentimental with the kids, the best gifts are always something you can’t wrap!

Here's 5 ideas that are super-cute and oh-so-easy to do. They might be low cost but they’re absolutely full-to-the-brim with love!

1. Do Something Active Together

Going for a stroll to a pretty place or a bike ride to a quaint village is a lovely way to spend Mother’s Day. March is such a beautiful time of year; the flowers are emerging, and the green shoots are starting to unfurl. Take advantage of the weather by packing a picnic blanket and some extra-special yummy food to enjoy once you’ve completed your route. It’s picture perfect and the kids will love it too.

2. Pampering Spa-at-Home

Delight Mum with a DIY spa day. Who could resist a bit of pampering in the comfort of their own home? Simply pull together a pamper pack of her fave things and download some chilled music to recreate those relaxing spa vibes! Whip out bathrobes and fresh fluffy towels and enjoy some me-time. Why not get the kids involved too with mini manicures, face masks and of course a bubble bath. It’s Mother’s Day marvellousness guaranteed!

3. Afternoon Tea-riffic

Take advantage of the Spring weather and set up a posh afternoon tea in the garden. Think tablecloths and finger sandwiches with the *best* teacups. Invite the teddy bears too (to add an extra furry-fun element) and get the kids busy writing a super-cute invitation. With hand-picked flowers in a vase and a selection of home-baked treats thanks to the kiddos, this is one terrific tea mum will remember forever.

4. Movie Night

Getting all snuggled up for a movie night is a family friendly way to give mum a special treat. Dim the lights and allow mum to pick the movie (it’s her day after all) whilst indulging in some extra special snacks. Get everyone in their PJ’s and voila! Bonus points if the kids design the movie ticket. Extra points for a glass of fizz for mum to enjoy with the movie!

5. Get Arty

Arty mum? Grab the water colours and head out together to paint a landscape as well as making time for a cuppa and a chat. For families with younger kids, set up a self-portrait station at home where you can have a giggle and paint each other’s portraits together. It’s a DIY keepsake mum will cherish forever. Make sure to add mum’s crown too. Especially as she’s queen for the day. Even better, get the kids to make one for her to wear whilst she poses for her portrait.

Better than a pair of socks or a box of chocs (although they’re always nice to receive), spending time together is by far one of the best things you can gift this Mother’s Day. So, whether you’re treating yourself or celebrating someone extra-special, make them massively smile this year by doing something different and show them how much you truly care. However you choose to celebrate, may your day be as wonderful as you are!

Happy Mother’s Day to all our marvellous mummies!
