Little Ghost

There’s nothing like a classic ghost costume to keep things simple and spooky. Just grab a plain white sheet, cut out eye holes, and voilà! Tie a ribbon around their waist or pop on a spooky hat for some extra flair. They’ll be the cutest ghost on the block!

Mini Mummy

Transform your child into a mini mummy with just a roll of toilet paper or strips of gauze. Wrap them up layer by layer, leaving space for their eyes and mouth. For an added “mummy” look, dab a little black eyeshadow around their eyes to complete the look. Just make sure they’ve got a comfy layer underneath, and they’re good to go!

Animal Adventures

Whether they want to be a cat, dog, or bunny, an animal costume is as easy as it gets! Use a little face paint to add a nose and whiskers, make paper or felt ears to attach to a headband, and craft a tail from old tights stuffed with tissue paper. Let their imagination decide the animal—it’s simple, cosy, and cute!

Spooky Scientist

For a costume that’s a mix of science and silliness, go with the “Spooky Scientist!” An oversized white shirt or an old lab coat makes the perfect base. Add some “messy” hair with a bit of hairspray, pop on some goggles or glasses, and they’re all set to conduct some mad experiments (or maybe just collect sweets!).

Magic Spellbook

Add a dash of magic with this enchanting spellbook costume! Dress your little one in all black, then tape a piece of cardboard or paper to their chest decorated with “spellbook” symbols or words. Complete the look with a wizard or witch hat, and they’re ready to cast a few friendly spells wherever they go!

Silly Scarecrow

Scarecrows are fun, quick, and easy to put together! Dress your child in checks, a pair of dungarees or jeans, and a floppy hat. Add face paint to create a stitched smile and rosy cheeks. Stick some straw or yarn in the pockets for extra authenticity, and you’ve got yourself a charming little scarecrow ready for Halloween.

Vampire Vibes

Dress them in dark clothing, add a cape from the fancy dress box (Harry Potter or Star Wars?) and use face paint for a pale complexion, plus a little eyeliner and some cheap glow in the dark fangs – fang-tastic!

Halloween doesn’t have to be an expensive or elaborate affair. Sometimes, the simplest costumes end up being the most memorable! Use what you already have at home and let your child’s imagination run wild.
