Santa’s workshop could certainly learn a few things from us at POD over the last few months!
We’ve now officially got our very first outdoor space for all of our POD people and we can’t wait to show you! Kane and his awesome team have been working looooonnnnggggg hours to get this area just right. Our outside play zone began construction in a rather cold and snowy November but driven on by lots of hot cuppas, bucket loads of enthusiasm and a little sprinkle of Practically Family magic, we can finally show you a sneak peek of the amazing work they’ve done.
Not all classrooms have four walls – outside learning is so important and armed with our exhaustive list of things to get this space ‘just right’ we’re over the moon with the result. Our outside play zone is designed for running, jumping, climbing, swinging – it’s a place our kids can let their imaginations (and bodies) run wild.
A safe and exciting environment that allows little minds to explore colours, textures and get up close and personal with nature – just how we like it!
Tactile and visually appealing, our outdoor play zone has a retractable white board and blackboard for the kids to write on, and places to make magical potions too. We’ve got an incredible light tunnel full of colourful shapes to explore plus it wouldn’t be an outside area if there wasn’t good ole mud – we’ve got mud kitchens and our snack planter for hands on learning fun.
Bespoke, educational (shhh the kids don’t know) and with fun at its heart we know our outdoor learning zone is going to be a place the kids love as much as we do and we can’t wait to show you!
Now the team are sprinkling their magic inside – EVERYTHING is getting a Practically Family touch of fun - even the toilets! Fun stable doors, sleek marble surfaces and positive affirmations on the mirrors! There’s not a place that hasn’t been given some extra thought and care.

There’s so much we can’t wait to show you! Everything is designed to aid development in a fun and immersive way and keep little (and big) ones engaged. Coloured in cheerful hues with oodles of playful features all bespoke to us we’ve got a hot air balloon, mountain range, sunken ship ready for exploration! Playful and a little fantastical, just perfect for all the fun we plan to have!
We’re still on track for opening in early January and we’ll be moving all our existing POD families into the new space for the first few weeks, before flinging open our doors to new families from January 31st (all being well!)
