Roll up, roll up! Practically Family’s Easter Eggstravaganza Holiday Club is coming to town, and it promises to be absolutely crackin’!!
This showstopper of an event will have your children’s eyes wide in wonderment as they take in the big top, try their hand at circus skills, head off into the woods for forest skills and egg hunts, craft their parade-winning bonnets and sample more treats than in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory!!!
For this two-week long holiday club, we’ve gone all out with a circus theme. Beginning with our big top which will become our base for morning and afternoon meet ups for the entire troop but will also train our crews in the art of tin can stilt walking, tight rope walking and easter egg juggling. Our crew leaders will also be on hand for the ever-popular face-painting with a range of pick n mix clowns.
Jo is back, taking on the role of forest ringmaster and leading our intrepid kids back into the wild for nest building, designing eco bird feeders, making fires for our outdoor pancakes and moulding mud monsters, all the while keeping an eye out for the Easter bunny, who may just happen to leave a few treats to find…
In the craft tent, we’ll be busying ourselves making bonnets for an eggscellent parade and crafting new friends in the form of sock bunnies as well as getting a hit of sugar with candy crafts, sweetie slime making and chocolate playdough! We’ll be trying our hand at a bit of science too with egg cup parachutes and *NEW* for this holiday club, our STEM inventing room!!
But none of this excitement would be show-stopping without some Treat Days! We have 3 planned over the course of the two-week holiday, the activities for which will be confirmed nearer the time as they’re so weather dependent. But they may involve ice-cream, they will definitely involve chocolate and as always, lots of bouncing and dancing to work off all that energy. The dates for these days are listed below if you want to consider these when making your booking:
The Holiday Activities and Food Programme is back for the Easter Holidays and available at our Easter Eggstravaganza during the second week, from the 11th – 14th April. This provides 16 hours of free childcare per week for children who receive benefits-related free school meals. You can read more about how it works and how to book a HAF place here.
Because the weather can literally do ANYTHING in April, it’s important to be prepared. So please send your child with a coat, suitable outdoor footwear and a hat and gloves as a minimum, unless the sun gods are looking down, in which case a sunhat and sun cream might be more appropriate. A spare set of clothes is always a good idea.
We provide snacks and water (and sweets! shhhh!) so the only other thing to remember is a packed lunch! If you are attending as part of the Holiday Activities and Food Programme, then we will also provide a cold lunch option.
Please bring everything in ONE bag with everything clearly labelled and please, please make your child aware what you have packed for them so they can easily identify their belongings at the end of the day.
Our Easter Eggstravaganza Holiday Club will be held at Moss Hey Primary School, so we have increased to five crews: BLUE, YELLOW, ORANGE, RED and GREEN. There's really no difference between our crews, we just find that having smaller groups help children buddy up with their friends more easily, as well as allowing our club leaders to design activities best suited to the children in their crew. You will be asked to choose your crew colour at the beginning of the booking process. Siblings do not need to be together (if they don’t want to be!) and you can book different crews if different friends are coming on different days/weeks. Totally flexible!
Whether you’re a working parent or just in need of a bit of a break yourself, we’re keeping our sessions fantastically flexible as usual so you can dip in and out however you fancy, whether you need one week, specific days or just a morning off.
