Let’s take a look back at a month packed with festive magic and those little moments of learning we love so much.
Chocolate, Chaos, and Creativity
We kicked off December with Oli the Choc, who turned our Preschool into a mini chocolate factory. The kids didn’t just decorate chocolate treats - they learned about how cocoa is turned into the chocolate we love. Plus, they mastered the art of edible glitter and sprinkles (because obviously, no chocolate creation is complete without a sparkle overload). Who says learning can’t be delicious?
Singing Loud for All to Hear
The Seashell Sing & Sign Choir stopped by for a truly special performance, bringing music, signing, and a hefty dose of festive spirit. The children got a lesson in inclusivity and the joy of different ways to communicate - all while belting out Christmas classics. And yes, the grown-ups may have shed a proud tear or two.
A Surprise Guest (Ho Ho Ho!)
What’s December without a visit from the big man himself? Santa popped into POD to listen to Christmas wishes and sprinkle a little extra magic into the day. The children practiced their communication skills by sharing their Christmas lists and discovered the patience required when waiting their turn. Let’s just say Santa wasn’t the only one who left with a smile!
Parties, Performances, and Glitter Galore
Our Preschool Party was a day of dancing, crafting, and good old-fashioned silliness. The kids worked on teamwork during party games, practiced self-expression through dancing and singing, and created festive crafts to take home.
The Preschool Nativity was the show of the season, with our little stars giving their all after weeks of practice. From building confidence on stage to learning the value of teamwork, it was more than just a performance - it was a celebration of all they’ve achieved. Plus, the catchy songs were stuck in everyone’s heads for days (you’re welcome).
Festive Finishes and Jumper Joy
We rounded off the term in style with Christmas jumpers and a final party. From jingle bell jumpers to light-up Rudolphs, the kids proudly showcased their outfits while wrapping up a term of learning and fun. And because one party is never enough, our POD Christmas Party delivered even more singing, dancing, and crafts. Who needs sleep anyway?
What We’ve Learned (Other Than Glitter Sticks to Everything)
December at POD was FUN! But it was also about the learning moments woven into every activity. Whether practicing patience with Santa, building confidence on stage, or sparking creativity with chocolate and crafts, the kids were growing and thriving without even realising it.
What’s Next?
As we pack away the tinsel and look ahead to January, we’re excited for what’s to come. Keep an eye on Tapestry for updates, and watch this space for more POD magic.
From all of us at POD, we hope your holidays are filled with joy, rest, and just enough glitter to remind you of the good stuff. See you in 2025!
